Since 2020 SRDS has been actively working to help the rural people have better lives with the SBI Foundation in the Mundargi Taluk Gram Seva Project.
There are a variety of initiatives being carried out in 5 villages in the selected area. All are designed to improve the facilities in the village and give the community a higher quality of life. The programs we have initiated are mainly self sustainable such as our tree-based farming initiative see video below:
This is some of the gym equipment supplied with the support of the SBI Foundation to the villagers. This gives them the opportunity to play and to increase the fitness of the village youths, adults and elderly.
The villagers gather to inspect the gym equipment that has been supplied to them for fitness and fun.
This equipment has been supplied in all villages.
During the past 2 years we have focused on remedial education for the children and youths, with the establishment also of computer labs where they can be brought into the digital age. These programs employ a local teacher. The children and youths pay a nominal fee and this fee goes to the salary of the teacher. In this way, the program can sustain itself and will continue to operate after we have completed our project.
Other initiatives include repair and renovation of public and community buildings and facilities.
Testimonials
My name is Santosh from Petha-Alur village, Mundargi taluk. Before using the organic Go Krupa Amrutum liquid oil, I used the non-organic oil which made the farm hard and bitter. Now that I have started using the Go Krupa oil, land has become soft. And I am getting good yield now. I never got good production of crops by using bore-well water for the field. Now I am able to grow a variety of vegetables like- beans, ladies’ finger, chillies and so on. I am happy with the end result, as the cost is comparative less compared to the Govt aided fertilizers. I will recommend everyone to use this oil which is cost effective and the crop production is relatively high. (an initiative supported by SBI Foundation)
